La Pinata opened the doors to the city of Montebello in 1983. With the right mindset, drive, and vision, Owners Alberto and Christina Alatorre brought something thing different to the city and added some latin flare. 

The term "grandma's kitchen" is exactly what La Pinata is about. If Authentic mexican food, homemade tamales and handmade corn tortillas is what you enjoy then La Pinata is your place.Whether its style of food, authentic style of cooking or atmosphere your looking for, we are it! If it's a quick bite or a full dinner menu you are looking for, we can accommodate to everyone and anyone. OUR SPECIALITIES We specialize in Masa Making, Tamale producing, and our good homemade Cooking.

We make masa everyday and have 3 different types: Tortilla, Unprepared (for tamales) and Prepared (ready to use) But....if your not a tamale maker and well you just prefer to eat them, we have you covered. We make 5 different types of homemade, deliciously, meaty tamales.Two types of red chile which are Pork or Beef, 2 types of green chile which are Cheese or Chicken, and for the sweet lovers we have a Sweet tamale ( has pineapple, raisins and cinnamon).
